Katharina Schroth (born on 22nd February 1984 and died on 19th February 1985) was a German physiotherapist. A scoliosis sufferer herself, she devised a 3-dimensional therapy programme for scoliosis, which is called the Katharina Schroth method. This method is designed to combat the complex problem of the three-dimensional condition, scoliosis. Katharina Schroth spent much time perfecting the technique of correcting scoliosis through exercise. She discovered a set of positions that allowed her to correct her curvature, making her deformity less obvious, using these with the aid different movements and breathing techniques; she developed what is known today as the Intensive Rehabilitation Programme for Scoliosis by the Katharina Schroth Method.
