This area of my website started because 8 years ago, when I was diagnosed with Scoliosis, my mother spent hours looking on the Internet in the hope of finding information and possible treatment methods. However, there was not much information available, only a multitude of horrendous accounts that did more harm than good and just sent her into a frenzy of worrying.
So really my purpose in creating this area is to reassure people of all ages that Scoliosis is not such a horrible thing, just something one comes to terms and learns to live with.
I am sure most people go through the initial stage of 'why me???' - I know I certainly did, however what I didn't know and find out until later was that Scoliosis is quite an ordinary problem and that I wasn't one of the only people to be affected by it, just one of many in the world.
I feel, looking back, that had I had someone to talk with and discuss things then I would have fared much better. Nevertheless I coped and learned lots, including the realization of how lucky I am to only have Scoliosis.
In fact I am still learning and discovering new things about Scoliosis and the treatments associated with it. My main interest is in alternative treatments, although I do like to keep an open mind, so I have included information regarding more conventional treatments as well.
So have a browse through my tree of information on Scoliosis and please feel free to email me about your own experiences.
